What screening processes do donors undergo? expand_more

All our donors undergo a rigorous screening process compliant with the ART Act and ICMR guidelines. This includes a comprehensive medical examination, testing for infectious diseases (HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis, etc.), genetic screening for common disorders, and a psychological evaluation.

Are there any restrictions on the supply of gametes? expand_more

Yes, as per the ART Act, a sperm donor can donate only once in their lifetime to a single commissioning couple or woman, and an egg donor can donate only once. We strictly adhere to these regulations and maintain a detailed, confidential database to ensure compliance.

The identity of the donor is kept strictly confidential as per the ART Act. We provide a detailed profile of the donor, including physical characteristics, educational qualifications, and medical history, without revealing any identifying information. The commissioning couple or woman will also remain anonymous to the donor.

Is the oocyte donor insured? expand_more

Yes, it is mandatory for the commissioning couple or woman to purchase a general health insurance policy for the oocyte donor for a period of twelve months from an insurance company or an agent recognized by the IRDAI. This covers any complications arising from the oocyte retrieval process.
